It’s Halloween this weekend but it’s already so freezing, feels more like Christmas than Halloween! I’ve been working from home (ya’ know some virus thing going on out there) and I need to have at least three cups of coffee a day while I am at my desk. I give it a sip and I attend a meeting, I give it another sip and I write an email, I give it a sip and I attend another meeting, I give it another sip and I check my mobile. And you can imagine, this goes on and on and on the whole day, the whole week and the whole month (seems like it will continue to a whole year).
I need to confess, it’s just not coffee these days, I also sip on some tea between one or two cups of coffee. Cloudy and rainy days had me thinking of my famous family tea recipe. I am sure you will all love it. It has got some spice on it to give you that autumn-is, wintery feeling and I added some ginger because ma’ good old pa’ says it’s good for ya’ health, especially when it’s cold.
You need the following, all based on the cup you choose. The recipe is for that magical cup you chose ‘kay?
- 1/3 cup of water.
- 2/3 of milk.
- 1 teaspoon of black loose tea or you can use one teabag.
- 2 cardamoms pods.
- 3-4 whole cloves.
- A tiny bit of ginger or ginger powder.
- A pinch of cinnamon.
- Sugar or syrup as desired.
- Heat the water and add the cardamoms, the whole cloves, and the ginger.
- When the water comes to a boil, add the water, and low down the heat to low-medium.
- Let the water absorb the spices’ goodness and smell for about 4-5 minutes.
- Now add the milk, leave it to boil.
- When it boils, lower the heat, leave it for 3-4 minutes.
- Serve the tea in a cup, add a pinch of cinnamon on top.
- Ya’ll know I hate sugar but you can add sugar or syrup if you like.
